“As someone with a fear of Public Speaking, I was hesitant to have training in something that I really did not enjoy. Sarah made me feel relaxed instantly, and gave me excellent advice in all aspects of public speaking. Since her training I have conducted two training sessions, both of which went very well. Prior to Sarah’s training I would not have had the courage to do this. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking to improving their presentation and communication skills. Oh, and I did Public Karaoke this weekend – your Public Speaking training definitely worked!” – Beth Buist, Senior Recruitment Consultant Aspect Personnel
“Hi Sarah, just a note to thank you for all your help in delivering presentations and overcoming the fear public speaking.
As you know, my particular goal in mind when undertaking your course was to prepare for our Interchange Events in Melbourne, Sydney and Wellington. During these events I presented to in excess of 150 people at a time on 6 occasions, previously I would have been a nervous wreck in the weeks leading up to the events let alone during the presentation itself. In addition, we had 5 C level and 3 Senior level members of the Ivanti Corporation in the audience out from the U.S. just to add to the level of stress and anxiety.
Thanks to you, not only were the presentations received well but I received praise from a number of the C level execs for them as well.
The biggest turning point for me however, was when I was half way through a presentation and I had the revelation that I was actually enjoying the whole being up on stage and interacting with the audience, which prior to undertaking your course would be an achievement beyond my comprehension.” – Adrian Curnow, systems engineer, Ivanti
“This is without doubt the best presentation skills or public speaking course that I have done. I’m regularly involved in presenting and facilitating in my business, and yet, I have learned things during this course that I have not come across before, particularly with regard to what’s happening in your mind when you present and how fear and anxiety can affect your performance. The tips and techniques that Sarah uses to help you overcome these will be invaluable. I would recommend the course to everyone who wants to build their confidence.” – Jenny Hanley, Principal Consultant Optimas Consulting
“Before I met Sarah I had actively avoided any opportunity to present to more than a handful of people and only then under duress. Sarah was highly effective in building my confidence and helping me to let go of my inner (sabotaging) belief that I cannot be a good speaker (with time, focus and practice). I have learnt so much from Sarah about how to manage my nerves and prepare myself psychologically for delivering engaging presentations. I’ve also learnt how to structure my presentations so they are clear for the listener, use vocal variety effectively, how to practice effectively, stand and use gestures. Sarah is an amazing teacher and I can’t recommend her coaching – and course – highly enough.” – Melanie Frok, Change Management & Employee Engagement Strategist
“I have done numerous presentation skills courses prior to this one, and I’ve never found a presenter who has managed to get the (admittedly tricky) balance right between being constructive and supportive, and also between pointing out areas in need of work and providing tangible means to overcome/improve in those areas. Until now. I couldn’t think of a better delivery and style than yours, Sarah. You manage to do all of the above – be incredibly supportive, and yet offer constructive feedback and provide actual ways to deal with the areas in need of improvement. You’re like a counsellor and presentation skills facilitator rolled into one!
Course uniqueness? The focus on dealing with nerves. Other courses I have attended focused on structure and delivery (i.e. voice projection, stance, etc), but didn’t cover adequately how to manage nerves. All the training in the world on structure and delivery won’t help people to improve if nerves are an issue (in my opinion).
You’re not going to find a more supportive place to improve your public speaking skills. And, if someone is particularly nervous about public speaking, then I think they should force themselves to go to this course, because if they can just get themselves to the first session, I think there is no way they would regret it.
I have been terrified of public speaking since my high school days. My fear was so debilitating that I chose to avoid it where possible (limiting my career progression in the process). When I couldn’t avoid it, I would get so nervous that the end result would be a terrible performance, and I would often end up in tears afterwards. This year, I decided I had had enough. I had finally found a job that I absolutely loved doing, but it required that I be able to speak up in meetings and present on regular occasions. I did some googling and found Sarah, and I am so grateful I did. I did two one-on-one sessions and then joined a five-week course. My expectations weren’t high – I had done several presentation skills courses before, and none had helped. This one, however, was different. In five weeks, I have gone from thinking ‘I will never be able to do this’, to ‘I know I can do this’. I even actually found myself enjoying giving my presentations in the final two weeks of the course, something I never could have previously imagined. In addition to managing nerves, I learned valuable information about structure and delivery that I can immediately apply in my work. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their public speaking.” – Megan K., Murdoch Children’s Research Institute
“The Complete Presentation Skills course is not only an excellent grounding in public speaking, it is a transforming experience. Sarah has a particular style that is both supportive and honest. She manages to ignite confidence in the most anxious of public speakers. It was great seeing everyone in the course come so far in just 5 sessions. If you want what it takes to be a strong public speaker, this course is a great place to start.
I believe the supportive and encouraging environment was one of the highlights of the course. I always felt that I could take the risk and try out new stuff. It was also good to know that Sarah had gone through the same anxiety about public speaking before turning it around. It gave me confidence that good public speaking was possible for everyone.” – Gavin Ackerly, Director Empowerment Pillar ASRC
“To be honest, I was at first really skeptical whether this course would help me. But the transformation in me has been amazing! I feel so empowered now, and ‘pumped’ to keep consolidating the new skills I have been taught. I have already been recommending Sarah to friends and family. I say: “give it a go! You will be amazed at what you’ll achieve. I am proof of it!!” Sarah was brilliant. She genuinely wants to help and make everyone believe that they can overcome their fear of public speaking – Sarah listens with her heart!” – Mai Chow
“I never thought I would look forward to a course where I would have to speak in public each week, but this course was so interesting and helpful I did look forward to it! It can really actually improve your public speaking a lot!” – Angela Constantine, DPI Melbourne
“I gained confidence throughout. I loved the tone and supportiveness of the course. Liked the balance between skills and dealing with some of the internal/psychological issues around public speaking. Felt my confidence and clarity grow week by week. Sarah was direct, no nonsense but also very gentle and kind. A great combination! I loved her authenticity and way of being.
About the course: I’d tell people how transformative it is, how much I watched myself and everybody else blossom through your guidance. I liked the 5 week format.” – Tanya Wolkenberg, Heritage Victoria
“There are one hundred different reasons for doing this course and Sarah seems to know them all and kindly deal with them. The way she builds self-confidence in everyone is fantastic. Plus being able to think and structure in a clear way” – Anne Skinner, Paralympian and Woman of Steel, ABC TV’s Australian Story
“I had some one-on-one coaching with Sarah to help me craft some messages and speak publicly about my newly published book. I found her extremely knowledgeable and insightful and she helped me to quickly develop an elevator pitch along with a few key messages that I have since used successfully in a number of speaking engagements.
Her manner is thoughtful, honest and sincere and I highly recommend her services for anyone wanting more confidence speaking publicly or, like me, maybe you just need a helping hand to help you stay ‘on message’.
Thank you Sarah for your gifts of wisdom, they have served me extremely well.” – Julianne Dowse, author
“Course benefits and uniqueness: the course was amazing and I developed and learnt the skills that I can continue to use and master in the future. I feel there is no need for course improvement – it was perfect for me! A comfortable environment where you could face fears and overcome them, with positive criticism. Videoing of the speeches and incorporating mindfulness with other methods to overcome fears allowed you to focus on where to improve giving you greater insight into your abilities. Sarah was very clear, interesting and relevant. The course increases your confidence in everyday life. You learn to present more clearly and with greater confidence in day-to-day conversation with both strangers and friends.” – Clare Hassett, photographer

“Sarah is an amazing and inspirational coach. I have invited her to host a public speaking workshop for our small team and she did a great job teaching us how to perform in front of the audience, gave us relevant feedback and pointed out things to work on. “For several years I have allowed fear to dictate the direction of my life when it comes to the area of speaking in public or simply being in meetings and social settings. I understand how debilitating it can be when you feel you can’t breathe or it feels like your heart is about to jump out of your mouth and your brain has left you temporarily. I know what it feels like to stand there wishing an earthquake or tsunami would miraculously sweep you off the planet but I would really encourage anyone who is struggling in these areas to take the step and enrol in one of Sarah’s classes. Its different that any other class or self help book and I’ll tell you why…..simply….. Sarah cares!! Sarah cares because like me she knows exactly how you feel. She understands exactly how that fear grips you. She understands the hurdle you feel you have to get over and she understands the power in overcoming. That is why this course is unique. Sarah’s style: warm, confident, knowledgeable down-to-earth, grounded and knows her stuff. An excellent role model. That you are a natural introvert is to our benefit as people don’t see see an outlandish performer and wonder ‘how the hell can I…?’ Her own story is proof.

Last year I was overseeing the management of a group of 20 projects for a large Melbourne-based company. Sarah was engaged to improve the presentation skills of Project Managers who were expected to present their progress to the CEO and senior board members regularly, and felt unprepared for the task ahead of them. She came into the group, quickly established rapport with all the staff and was able to assist them in a very short timeframe. There was noticeable improvement in the way the staff presented themselves and their confidence grew rapidly.

Sarah’s course is concise and well considered, each week we were provided with a suite of physical and mental techniques. The most important aspect of the course was every week we were provided with the opportunity to practice our new techniques in a safe environment. If you are looking to improve your public speaking taking one of Sarah’s courses would be a highly worth while investment.”
Stephen Coulter, Project Engineer Melbourne

I can’t imagine anyone wouldn’t be willing to recommend you!!” – Georgia Radman, law student

I’ve been thinking about the whole ‘public speaking’ thing and how you get around the problem it presents … and it does look like the cure has got to be Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic in style, so your approach is absolutely spot on.” – Simon Veitch, multimedia publisher, Castlemaine

Sarah was a great teacher, very supportive and encouraging- provided good constructive feedback and next steps. Top Qualities: Great Results, Expert, Good Value.” – Karen Sue, service delivery manager Asia Pacific Kraft Foods (Mondelez)

“Course benefits: working with people at the same level – common goals; pressure-free environment. Very good exercises to support delivery, good use of techniques for preparing for a speech. Sarah’s style: excellent, well-delivered, supportive, confronting but also constructive. A warm, friendly course with important technical skills/techniques which were well explained and can be used effectively outside the classroom.
Point of difference: not a strong corporate/business focus which is what a lot of public speaking courses seem to emphasise. A great introductory point for all levels. I would have been comfortable with longer sessions or course length” – Ben Fraser, Act for Peace Team Manager
“A small group allowed me to feel more comfortable, and running the course over 5 weeks was much more beneficial. Welcoming environment. Hearing Sarah’s own experience created trust and, from my observations, gave the group, including myself, a sense that Sarah really did understand each persons fears and insecurities when it came to public performance. Great size of class, excellent ideas on structuring a presentations, the chance to use what you learned in prepared and impromptu scenario.” – Philip Moore, pharmaceutical sales Galderma
“The most important part of the course for me was the theory: providing so many proven techniques has allowed me to experiment and find the ones that work best for me. I was inspired to try new techniques and change my situation! Sarah’s delivery was excellent: relaxed and intimate, and not so professional and sophisticated that I felt unable to ask questions or make mistakes. Great handouts, content and structure too.” S. C. 5 Week Complete Skills participant

“A course that will provide you with new skills and techniques to improve your confidence and ability; Sarah is professional, knowledgeable, very easy going, supportive – and also gives constructive feedback.” – Peter Horigan, The Warranty Group
“Sarah’s course, Confidence for Musicians, gave great tips. What I really noticed was that she illustrated the techniques so clearly they are still coming easily to mind several weeks after the course. Even when on the concert platform too! The positive effect of these techniques is immediate. REALLY useful and effective. My advice… take the course! You are sure to come away with value.” – Robin, Professional Musician, Melbourne
“As a mature age person in the early stages of musicanship I found the material in your workshops to be challenging and completely relevant without making me feel out of place. A very relaxed environment and friendly, both necessary for the less confident. The depth of coverage is good, and the pace too, to keep the mind engaged.
It was enlightening for me to see more experienced and professional musicians attend these same workshops, and very valuable for someone such as myself to listen and draw on their experiences. In many ways this was as valuable as the content because it placed the anxiety I am experiencing as part of the natural environment.
The observations you provided at the practical workshop finally crystallised the identification of deficiencies in my practice and learning of music that had only been dawning on me since the first workshop around anxiety, that no amount of public performance would have overcome without first addressing some of these simple underlying issues that had formed into bad habits and appear to be the root cause of my anxiety.
Would recommend this to anyone wanting to understand what can trigger performance anxiety and how to begin dealing with it.” – Anton Ady, amateur pianist, Melbourne
